The salary for role is in between $105,000 - $115,000 per annum.

Job Summary:

• The Factory OS Developer is responsible for the design, development, and maintenance of the Factory Operating System (FOS) that supports manufacturing processes. This role involves working closely with the development and manufacturing teams to ensure the FOS meets the necessary requirements for device development from proof of concept through to the provisioning of the retail image

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop robust, scalable, and efficient software solutions for the Factory Operating System.
• Analyze system requirements and work with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions into the manufacturing process.
• Maintain and enhance existing FOS software to improve performance and reliability.
• Conduct unit testing and debugging of the FOS to ensure stability and quality.
• Document software specifications and maintain version control to ensure traceability.
• Collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to ensure seamless integration of the FOS with manufacturing hardware.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for FOS-related issues during the manufacturing process.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in software development, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Strong programming skills in relevant languages such as C#, .NET, PowerShell, or similar.
• Familiarity with Windows Core and the ability to customize it for factory scenarios.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools.
• Knowledge of software testing methodologies and experience with unit testing.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Top 3 Hard Skills:

• Minimum 0-2 years of strong C# and C skills
• Minimum 0-2 years of Strong experience in debugging issues and interdependent systems
• Minimum 0-2 years Experience with Windows OS architecture .

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with UWP, TShell, Windbg, Telnet, TAEF Understanding of manufacturing processes and the specific requirements of a factory operating system.
• Familiarity with the Glissade build pipeline and Surface OS build process.
