We are seeking a Legal Counsel for a rapidly growing asset management client based in Chicago, IL. This role is on a hybrid schedule, requiring 4 days in their Downtown Chicago Office.
ROLE OVERVIEW
- Review and interpret international, state and federal laws and regulations as well as perform research, provide insight and make recommendations based on best practices
- Provide insight for new fund launches and SPV and other structures
- Work closely with the internal groups and provide insight and recommendations for new funds, share classes, side letters and new strategies looking to implement
- Review and respond to legal inquiries raised by business units or departments
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- Fund Formation experience
- Practical experience with legal matters in financial services industry is preferred
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently to meet/exceed deadline
- Consistent work ethic through hard work, confidence and effort
- Outstanding attention to detail and strong organization skills
EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE :
- JD & 3 years of legal experience required
- Hedge fund or registered investment advisor experience strongly preferred
