POSITION SUMMARY:
The Respiratory Care Practitioner will provide cardio-pulmonary services according to the scope of the State Respiratory Care Practice Act and the hospital policy and procedure manuals. The Respiratory Care Practitioner may administer and perform those direct and indirect cardio-pulmonary services, including but not limited to, the administration of pharmacological and diagnostic and therapeutic agents related to cardio-pulmonary procedures necessary to implement a treatment, disease prevention pulmonary rehabilitation, and diagnostic regimen prescribed by a physician using safe and aseptic techniques.

Category I - Jobs in which required tasks routinely involve a potential for mucous membranes or skin contact with blood, body fluids, tissues or potential spills or splashes. Use of appropriate measures is required for every healthcare provider in these jobs.
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, MATERIALS, MACHINES USED:
Various oxygen equipment, artificial airways (i.e., tracheotomy tubes, endotracheal tubes), invasive as well as non-invasive ventilator equipment, suction equipment, percussors, electrocardiographic machine, pulse oximetry equipment and supplies, blood gas and other chemistry analyzers, crash carts, other miscellaneous medical equipment, telephone, facsimile machine, copier, printers, computers and other office machines, as appropriate.
CERTIFICATIONS:
CRT or RRT, BLS certification, ACLS certification
