Job SummaryHarperDB is seeking a Director of Product Management to join our growing team. This role is a blend of product management, product marketing and project management, acting as the vital link between our engineering, marketing, and product teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in product development and management, with the ability to manage complex projects, groom backlogs, and facilitate knowledge transfer across departments.
Responsibilities
- Act as the "glue" between engineering, marketing, and product teams, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
- Work closely with senior leaders to align product strategies with company goals.
- Develop and manage product roadmaps, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Define product requirements, features, and specifications.
- Experience with product packing and pricing
- Coordinate with engineering, marketing, and other departments to ensure timely and successful product releases.
- Manage release schedules, ensuring all teams are aligned and deadlines are met.
- Oversee the grooming of the product backlog, prioritizing features and bug fixes based on business and customer needs.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for product features, user guides, and technical specifications.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer to the marketing team, ensuring they have the information needed to effectively promote new releases.
- Serve as a liaison between the product team and customers, gathering feedback and providing updates.
- Assist with pricing strategies and packaging options that align with market demands and company objectives.
- Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends and competitor offerings.
- Hands on experience in the application and software infrastructure space
- Knowledge of database, apis, and distributed systems
- Proven experience in product marketing, product management, project management, or a similar role.
- Strong technical writing skills, with the ability to create clear and concise documentation.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira or Asana.
- Prior experience with HarperDB or similar distributed database solutions.
- Experience in developing pricing strategies and packaging for technology products.
- Project or program management certification (PMP, ScrumMaster, etc.).
