Under general supervision, the Pretrial Officer is responsible for reviewing dockets for assigned courts and preparing pretrial paperwork to assist courts with pretrial release, supervision conditions, and other court-related processes.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Political Science, Counseling, or other closely related field from an accredited university or college
OR
Bachelor's degree in any other field of study from an accredited university or college; with either:
Two (2) years of volunteer experience in a Criminal Justice or Social Sciences setting.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bilingual in English & Spanish.
Functional Requirements:
Applicants for this position will be subject to a criminal background check that includes being fingerprinted. This applies to any position with network access to Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) or access to an area where CJIS is received, maintained or stored either manually or electronically (i.e. custodian, maintenance).

Shift and weekend assignments | Hours will be discussed during departmental interview
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
Working in an office setting, court, and jail with security restrictions and close proximity to defendants; continuous computer use.
Travel between office locations including inclement weather.
Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
