POSITION SUMMARY
Under direction of Plant Manager/ Maintenance manager, completes requisitions for parts, equipment and supplies needed by Maintenance, including maintaining adequate inventory on hand and storing and dispersing items receive or requested.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Operates inventory Management System within Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
Completes Purchase Order Requisitions for parts, equipment and/or supplies needed to replenish inventory on hand or to fill internal requests for same.
Completes Purchase Order Requisition, including calling for cost information and confirming cost and delivery date.
Checks items received against those ordered; completes paperwork required to return damaged items to supplier after notifying Maintenance Superintendent.
Keeps current records of approved suppliers.
Issues items requested or notifies requisitioner of order status if not in stock and of order upon receipt.
Prepares monthly summarizing storeroom activity.
Keeps current library of parts/supply brochures, catalogues, and price sheets.
Posts records showing part usage by machine.
Takes inventory of stock room items and prepares Purchase Order Requisitions to replenish low supplies.
Places items received in designated stock room location.
Arranges stock room for easy access to items stocked and used frequently.
Prepares paperwork to return items for credit or repair.
Requests and forwards quotes for Capital Projects as required.
Works safely, performs housekeeping and other assigned duties normally performed by, or added, to this job.
Update assets list, workorders and new vendors in the system.
Generate work orders for maintenance and keep records.
Other duties as assigned.
SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High school diploma required.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum one year prior related work experience required.
Knowledge of maintenance parts/supplies and purchasing procedures required.
SKILLS: Must be able to touch type 35 wpm, have mechanical aptitude, good math and communication skills and be able to keep detailed, accurate, legible records.
RELATIONSHIP RESPONSIBILITY: Daily telephone contact with suppliers. Daily telephone personal contact with Company management and employees.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Occasionally required to work other than assigned shift and overtime. Must be able to lift heavy items.
