HARRISON FRENCH & ASSOCIATES LTD is Hiring a Remote Architect I

HFA seeks a strong licensed professional architect, based in Northwest Arkansas, to develop a fresh approach to prototype development and maintenance for a national retail roll-out program. The succesful applicant will be familiar with and knowledgeable of the retail design and construction process.This person will work closely with the client often in face-to-face meetings and create or revise current prototypes and details and be a force for change.

Demonstrated experience with understanding a client's vision to develop options with sketches, Revit, or other software and complete final construction document and details in Revit is required. Previous program, project management and people skills are required. We seek a self starter who has a good understanding of design and construction with architecture and all bulding disciplines.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Use 2D and 3D software to assist the Design Team in the development of designs and drafting construction documents in support of clients' building program.
  • Should utilize education and experience to independently tackle challenges as they arise on projects.
  • Will gain experience evaluating client requirements, building code, and zoning regulations to develop design recommendations.
  • Provide technical design planning and coordination in a collaborative and multi-disciplined environment.
  • Performs architectural assignments focused on construction document production and coordination with regulatory authorities to gain necessary approval for construction.
  • Work may include construction administration tasks leading to project completion, under supervision of Design Team Lead, for training and development purposes.
  • Adhere to ethical standards and codes of professional conduct

Job Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Produce accurate construction documents detailing the clients vision and goals.
  • Document and analyze existing building conditions to produce as-built documents and reports (Travel required).
  • Conduct building code analysis and research regulatory requirements to determine design constraints.
  • Develop design options and alternates.
  • Develop specifications writing and compiling skills
  • Coordinate building components and systems with other disciplines to develop construction documents based on the clients requirements.
  • Efficiently produce accurate construction documents with minimal supervision by reviewing
    own work.
  • Communicate and present design options and alternates to clients
  • Mentor, direct and supervise team members
  • Work with municipalities to secure entitlements and building permits.
  • Respond to Contractor Requests for Information.
  • Review shop drawings and submittals for conformance with design intent.
  • Complete field reports to document observations during construction.
  • Review results from field reports, third-party inspectors, and other test results for conformance with contract documents.
  • Entry level management responsible for staff and projects.
    • Maintain compliance with milestones established by Design Team Leads.
    • Monitor performance of design team consultants.
    • Perform quality control review of junior staff work product.
