For School Year 2024-2025220- Work Day CalendarAnnual Salary: $82,226 (Salary placement is based on experience.)Click on the following link to view the full salary range on the Administrative Salary Schedule: https://www.hsd2.org/our-district/financial-transparencyJob Summary:Responsible for providing management, supervision, and leadership to the District programs for students with disabilities, including hiring, evaluating, planning, and training staff. Continually promote the District’s Mission, achievement goals, and key actions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Work with district Special Education teams on programming/student issues.Supervise current staff, including conducting informal and formal observations for evaluation of staff. Assist building administrators with formal Special Education staff evaluation process. Participate in the recruitment and hiring of Special Programs employees.Provide leadership through participation in and chairing of various District and regional teams and committees associated with the provision of special education supports and services. Coordinate with outside agencies, other districts, and private schools.Coordinate staff activities and training to make program improvements and implement new efforts.Manage the operation of the department instructional support teams.Direct and support the instructional supervisors in their roles and responsibilities.Support and implement the directives of the department and District administrators.Provide leadership in evaluating and improving program effectiveness.Perform other duties as assigned.To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Education, Training and Experience:Master’s degree in special education or a related field, such as educational administration, curriculum, or instruction.Five years of special education experience required. Three years of administrative experience preferred.Skills, Knowledge and Equipment:Advanced oral and written communication, English language, interpersonal relations, customer service, public relations, presentation/training, critical thinking, problem-solving, organizational, and supervisory/management skills.Math and accounting skills. Personal computer, keyboarding, and word processing skills.Knowledge of federal and state regulations, basic characteristics, needs, and practices, in the disability areas.Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job. Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations. Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and multiple priorities.Ability to promote and follow Board of Education, Superintendent, building, and department policies and procedures.Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.Certificates, Licenses and Registrations:Possess, or be eligible for, Director of Special Education endorsement or a Principal/Administrator License.Valid Colorado driver’s license.Background check and District fingerprinting is required.Application Procedure:Click on the red “Apply” button to complete an online application, you must apply to each position that is of interest to you.FLSA: Exempt
