Associate Director Medical Informatics Hartford HealthCare

Hartford HealthCare (HHC) is an integrated delivery network comprised of 7 acute care hospitals, an extensive network of ambulatory facilities and over 1,200 employed physicians. Hartford HealthCare Cancer Institute oversees all aspects of oncology within the healthcare system and seeks a Medical Director for Cancer Informatics. This is a dual position with an appointment as Associate Director Medical Informatics reporting to the Hartford HealthCare Chief Medical Informatics Officer. The physician's areas of focus will include but not be limited to Epic optimization, cancer data architecture, clinical decision support and the development of strategic informatics partnerships and collaborations. A priority area will be the integration of multiple information systems including Epic Systems, Philips DFCI chemotherapy pathways, Co-Path LIS, Mosaic and multiple cancer registries into a cohesive data architecture that supports data science.

The Physician will be a key member of transformative clinical workgroups constituted across HHC in areas such as Clinical Decision Support, Clinical Intelligence and Clinical Documentation. Physician will partner with the Director of IT for the Cancer Institute, and work with and provide guidance to analysts and other resources to support implementation of priority initiatives. Physician will also represent the Cancer Institute on key external committees such as the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Alliance Informatics Sub-Committee and Epic oncology committees. Academic appointment through the University of Connecticut School of Medicine is available commensurate with qualifications.

The candidate will be a Board Certified/Eligible Medical Oncologist. Demonstration of training and expertise in medical informatics is required and can be evidenced by a variety of experiences such as prior work experience, successful completion of an informatics training program such as AMA 10x10, Epic Physician Builder certification, or Board Certification in Medical Informatics. The Cancer Institute Associate Director Medical informatics is a 0.5 FTE position with the remaining 0.5 FTE in clinical work either in general medical oncology or sub-specialty focus depending on the desires of the candidate.
