DescriptionThe Maintenance Manager is responsible for supervising and training maintenance personnel in the upkeep of existing equipment and the installation of new equipment.
Responsibilities Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides direction to maintenance staff while promoting compliance with Company objectives
- Maintains a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
- Performs upgrades and/or changes to equipment if necessary.
- Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
- Completes all necessary paperwork in a timely manner.
- Oversees the work activities and professional training and development of direct reports and indirect reports.
- Assists in developing and carrying out departments goals, objectives, and systems.
- Monitors employee’s adherence to company rules and policies and takes necessary corrective action if needed.
- Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
- Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).
- Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free workplace.
- Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety-related issues to Management.
- Troubleshoots motor control circuits, drives and PLC systems.
- Suggest ways to make production more efficient.
- Performs upgrades and/or changes to equipment if needed
- Prior experience working in Manufacturing, food processing and food grade processing, bagging and packaging equipment.
- -TIG Welding is a huge plus
- -Min. 5 years Maintenance Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably food.
- -Ability to work overtime.
- -Ability to read, write and understand English.
- -Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, fractions and decimals.
- -Ability to stand duration of shift.
- Ability to read schematics.
