About the role

HashiCorp is looking for a motivated Technical Program Manager who is excited to drive critical Platform programs forward with an impact on product and customer success. Through accountability, a strong track record of success, professional knowledge, and great interpersonal relationships this person will thrive in a dynamic environment..

As part of the R&D Operations team, you'll improve and execute on the strategy and operations of the Platform organization, including Hashicorp Cloud Platform and/or Internal Platform. You will drive complex programs and initiatives requiring close cross-functional collaboration across multiple disciplines and products.

You will be responsible for bringing cohesion and meaningful collaboration across engineering, product, design and other cross-functional partners for product development, delivery, and launch. You should have a strong appreciation for scaling up our processes, thrive in a dynamic environment, and have excellent interpersonal skills.

Our R&D team, as well as the other cross-functional teams you'll work with, are almost entirely remote. While prior experience working remotely isn't required, we are looking for team members who perform well given a high level of independence within an evolving working model. Excellent systems thinking, collaboration, communication, and team-building skills are required to collaborate effectively with organizational leaders in other functions.

In this role, you can expect to take on these responsibilities:
  • Drive outcomes, not outputs. Achieving valuable business results, through positive means and interactions, is what matters to R&D Operations and the TPM function
  • Lead coordination for cross-product programs to ensure that the overall program is accounted for (end result, milestones, dependencies, and more)
  • Work closely with leadership to drive the execution of strategic initiatives, proactively identifying risks & obstacles along with mitigation plans
  • Manage the collaboration between engineering, product, design, and non-R&D functions by identifying priorities, defining cross-functional milestones, and maintaining plans
  • Create and maintain Program Pages inline with the standard R&D Ops template
  • Own systems for project documentation, status tracking, portfolios, dashboards and communication between project stakeholders to ensure overall program health
  • Establish, drive and continuously improve standards for processes that promote a high standard for product delivery and efficiency of teams
  • Contribute to an environment that's conducive to a great execution culture and removes obstacles to project completion
  • Work closely with leadership and operational teams on priority and productivity process improvements that aid in delivering value faster with greater accuracy and confidence
You could be successful in this role if you have these attributes:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in an R&D program management role driving initiatives through a full product life cycle
  • Knowledge of distributed software architecture and cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with HashiCorp products
  • Proven ability to creatively solve complicated problems
  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills, understanding of the needs of all stakeholders, and a track record of delivering projects
  • Experience in a rapid growth organization, working cross-functionally with teams delivering enterprise software
  • Strong bias for action and an intrinsic ability to deal with ambiguity
  • A desire to add stability and a foundation of consistency
