Hassan Sons is Hiring a Food and beverage manager Near Woodland, CA

The Foodservice and Beverage Category Manager will be responsible for managing and developing the foodservice and beverage categories across our convenience store chain.

This role involves strategic planning, product selection, supplier negotiations, merchandising, and performance analysis to optimize sales and profitability.

Reports directly to the Sr Category Manager.

Core Job Responsibilities

Operations :

  • Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies for foodservice and beverage products.
  • Conduct market research and analyze industry trends to identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
  • Set clear category objectives and goals aligned with the company’s overall business strategy.
  • Product Selection and Management.
  • Curate and manage a diverse and appealing product assortment for the foodservice and beverage categories.
  • Work closely with suppliers to source high-quality, innovative products that meet customer preferences and demand.
  • Monitor product performance and make data-driven decisions to optimize the product mix.
  • Supplier Relations and Negotiations.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure favorable agreements and cost efficiencies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop promotional activities and marketing initiatives.
  • Merchandising and Promotion.
  • Develop and execute effective merchandising plans to maximize product visibility and sales.
  • Design and implement in-store displays and promotional materials to enhance the customer shopping experience.
  • Coordinate with marketing and store operations teams to ensure successful execution of promotions and events.
  • Sales and Performance Analysis.
  • Analyze sales data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure category performance.
  • Identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement to drive sales and profitability.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management on category performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration.
  • Work closely with the procurement, marketing, store operations, and finance teams to ensure seamless category management.
  • Provide training and support to store staff on product knowledge, merchandising, and sales techniques.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives to drive overall business success.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in category management, preferably in the foodservice or retail industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful category strategies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and category management software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

Abilities and Physical Requirements

  • Regular standing / walking, both in the office area and in the Field
  • Infrequent bending, stooping, kneeling and twisting
  • Infrequent light lifting / carrying of items of varying weight
  • Repetitive motion and movement of the wrists, hands and / or fingers
