Hattie Larlham is Hiring an Employment Specialist - Franklin County Near Westerville, OH

Hattie Larlham Employment Specialists work with persons with disabilities in school based and non-school based settings to identify employment related interests, skills, job readiness and needs. May provide services in a group setting or one-on-one based upon referral and the person's need. The Employment Specialist assists the person in their progression on their employment path towards the anticipated outcome of competitive employment. Sites and work schedule vary based on the needs of the person served, must be willing to have a flexible work schedule.

  • Full-Time 40 hours / week - Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm - must have flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Location: Greater Columbus Ohio
  • Position pays $17.00 / hour
Job Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working with people with disabilities required.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License with satisfactory driving record.
  • Personal vehicle with proof of auto insurance.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR certification - Free training provided!
  • Demonstrated proficiency in use of Microsoft Office, Office365, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel required.
Duties
  • Assess work skills, interests, preferences, strengths, and behavior. Adapt job coaching technique and guidance to align with skills and behaviors observed.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with local companies and public agencies to create job exploration and employment opportunities for the persons served.
  • Provide transportation for person served as needed to service sites.
  • Complete daily service documentation required for the relevant service provided with adequate information and within expected service specific timeframes.
  • Demonstrates appropriate mannerisms and behaviors for persons served, helping them to learn and adapt to the setting.
  • Identify areas of risk for person served. Discuss areas of risk with person and/or service teams. Document ways discussed to reduce risk and if the person accepts the identified risk.
  • Required to perform other related duties as assigned.
