Haugland Group, a privately-owned Long Island, New York-based electrical and heavy civil construction company has an immediate opportunity for an experienced Associate General Counsel to join our team. We are a multi-company organization with a high volume of intercompany transactions.

KEY FUNCTIONS

• Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts (with customers, subcontractors, and vendors)
• Review and negotiate commercial leases
• Communicate with employees, subcontractors, vendors, and landlords

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Must have 3-5 years of Construction Law experience (transactional or litigation relating to contract negotiation or preparation/litigation of delay claims)
• Significant prior experience drafting and negotiating commercial leases
• Possess strong interpersonal skills
• Highly skilled legal writing capabilities
• Degree from an ABA – Accredited law school and strong academic credentials
• Licensed to practice law in the State of New York
• Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter, and able to work independently
• Must be able to work in-person from our office located in Melville, NY on a full-time basis
