ABOUT THE JOB

Hawaii Preparatory Academy is seeking a part-time Isaacs Art Center Assistant to provide essential support to the Director of Isaacs Art Center. This role involves a variety of administrative and operational tasks to ensure the smooth functioning of the Art Center.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Typing and distributing reports and correspondence
  • Maintaining files for the Director
  • Assisting with cataloguing art pieces
  • Maintaining donor and customer databases
  • Assisting in the production and maintenance of the Art Center website
  • Placing art pieces on the Ask Art website
  • Writing biographies of artists and descriptions of art pieces
  • Greeting Art Center visitors and assisting customers with questions
  • Arranging for the crating, mailing, and delivery of art pieces
  • Maintaining the calendar of Art Center events
  • Assisting in hosting Art Center events
  • Preparing art for the annual Alu Mai Financial Aid Auction
  • Performing additional duties as assigned

Working Conditions:

The role is generally performed in an open-air office setting, involving extended periods of sitting and typing. Responsibilities include frequent walking between the gallery and Visitor Center, packing and receiving items, and running short errands in town.
