At HawkPoint Technologies (HawkPoint), technology is a lifestyle. We don’t “do” technology for a living. Technology is part of who we are as people. Our employees were partially raised by Bruce Wayne and Steve Jobs (Bill Gates for the kids on the other side of the tracks). We build servers for fun, develop complex applications for breakfast and solve business technology problems in our sleep. This isn’t a job, it’s a lifelong adventure, wherein tech, business, problem-solving and invention all work and play together in harmony.
What a bunch of nerds, right? Perhaps in the 1980s but today everyone has a computer in their pocket and their personal data is shared amongst cyber-criminals like hors d’evours at a cocktail party. Businesses move at a lightning pace and are driven by technology solutions. Anyone believing that a modern business can survive without tech is more outdated than Poindexter’s pocket protector.
Every day, and in every corner of the building, we are doing something awesome with technology. The IT Services side of the house is building virtual SANs, while the development side is writing a software that could revolutionize the manufacturing industry. Short of Oompa Loompas and a scary boat ride, HawkPoint is basically Willy Wonka’s factory for tech people.
Are you a tech people? We need one. Specifically, we are looking to hire a Systems Administrator (or perhaps two). If I have to explain what a Systems Administrator does, you’re probably not the right person for the job but let’s bullet some points anyway:
Dessert First: Administration
Our admins build, configure, maintain and provide support for Microsoft Servers, virtualization technologies and an assortment of cloud services, including (especially) Microsoft 365. At minimum, you should know your way around managing servers, M365 and desktop environments. More advanced (higher paid) admins should be capable of independently designing and implementing server environments, as well as advanced skills in M365/Azure, Kaseya and Cisco Meraki. If you are well versed in these areas, you’ve passed the first round. Move to stage two.
Veggies: Support
We provide all levels of tech support to our clients. Our admins support everything, because they can. The issue may be the PC, it may be the server. We don’t mess around with multiple techs, multiple trips. One tech to rule them all… However, we will specialize when we can. Our primary systems are Kaseya, Microsoft (M365) and Cisco/Meraki. You don’t have to come in an expert. Just be prepared to learn.
Main Course: “The Ideal Candidate”
There is a big salary range listed. We need admins at all levels. Your tech skills will help in qualifying you for a high salary, but we really emphasize soft skills and professional maturity. Knowing why the work needs to be done is as important as know what needs to be done.
Big picture, we don’t really focus on specific education or experience, but you should have something to show for what you can do. SysAdmin for 2 years, cool. Associates in Network Systems Administration, sweet. Just as long as you’ve done something, and you can do this.
We offer medical, vision and dental insurance, as well as life insurance and short term disability. Everyone starts with 3 weeks PTO.
You’ve made it to the bottom, so you must be interested. If you have a golden ticket, send a resume and cover letter to careers@hawkpt.com.
HawkPoint provides a fair and equal employment opportunity for all associates and job applicants regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status or disability and we welcome applications from any/all suitably qualified candidates.
