Description Hawksmoor is opening in New York: in a beautiful National Historic Landmark built as The United Charities Building in 1893 with an incredible 25-foot ceilinged assembly hall that will form the main room of the restaurant. The location is just off Park Avenue South and north of the prestigious Gramercy Park and Union Square. The restaurant will be 170 seats with a 50-cover bar and will be opening in the summer of 2021.

Reporting to the General Manager, were looking for a brand-new Restaurant Manager to join our team and open our first international restaurant in New York.

Key responsibilities of the role include:

To be responsible for the running of the restaurant, including, but not exclusively:

* Correct set up and break down of the restaurant daily

* Ensure service and hospitality standards are high and consistent

* Actively dealing with customer complaints

* Ensuring all equipment required is available and fit for purpose

* Set an example to staff when running the door, the pass & the floor or working a section.

* Managing junior staff, especially:

* Holding engaging and informative briefings

* Monthly formal one-to-ones with each member of the team

* Get involved in training, induction and development of the team.

* Interview and recruit members of the team

* Writing and closing schedules for your team

* A good understanding of:

Product

Systems, including OpenTable, Aloha and others

To be considered for the role you will have:

* Extensive experience running some of the best restaurant and bars in New York.

* Experience launching and opening restaurants in New York and the US.

* Comfortable and experienced with high volume businesses in terms of both covers and revenue.

* Excellent floor management skills.

* Ability to create an incredible culture and work ethic within your team.

* Top management and interpersonal skills and ability to work harmoniously with all departments

* Exemplary product knowledge of food and beverage.

* Excellent leadership skills with ability to teach, coach and train all FOH employees.

* Experience in all NYC Health and Safety and Food Hygiene Practices and Standards.
