HAWTHORN BANK is Hiring a GRAPHIC DESIGNER Near Summit, MO

Hawthorn Bank is seeking a Graphic Designer. We’re looking for someone who has strong design skills and experience creating visual concepts to engage target audiences. You must have attention to detail, be creative, able to problem-solve and communicate in a way that promotes and grows Hawthorn Bank’s brand, while maintaining design best practices. You will provide forward-thinking ideas and implement first-rate designs and strategies to promote associates, products and elevate the brand to drive awareness across target markets. The Graphic Designer reports directly to the Senior Vice President - Director of Marketing.
Job Responsibilities
As a Graphic Designer at Hawthorn Bank, you will:
  • Work with a variety of internal stakeholders to produce engaging, intentional graphic designs that build awareness, drives engagement and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with SVP – Director of Marketing and internal marketing team to establish creative direction, project scope, and produce final deliverables by deadline.
  • Manage multiple projects at the same time, ensuring they are completed and approved on time.
  • Understand and adhere to brand standards and maintain consistency throughout each project.
  • Promote Hawthorn Bank through development, coordination and implementation of graphic designs into projects, including marketing materials, brochures, reports/presentations, logos, billboards, website, social media, t-shirt designs, wall/window graphics, building signage, ATM wraps, screen savers, banners, invitations, gifting, specialty items, etc. to be used in various applications (print, web, outdoor, etc.) for all delivery channels, including traditional and electronic.
  • Identify opportunities to contribute to Hawthorn Bank’s brand awareness by generating design ideas.
  • Create infographics and visual guides.
  • Develop new tools and improve existing tools (i.e., printer, software, etc.).
  • Communicate clearly, consistently and accurately across a variety of channels.
  • Integrate new technology and best practices to increase impact and efficiency.
  • Use Adobe Creative Suites to create graphic images and design layouts that communicate company messaging and align with brand direction, including a selection of color, images and typography.
  • Test graphics across various media, ensuring designs are visually appealing and on brand.
  • Review final designs for errors before publishing.
  • Remain open to feedback and have the willingness to adjust designs accordingly.
  • Have the skillset to produce and edit video and photography, a bonus.
  • Coordinate and supply production specifications for print vendors and other vendors – files, samples, etc. as required.
  • Maintain accurate and complete production records.
  • Work within established budgets.
  • Keep current with the latest design trends, tools and technologies.
  • Monitor competition and provide ideas to stand out.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
Our ideal Graphic Designer will have:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in the creative arts/graphic design field
  • Minimum of 5 years of proven graphic design experience with a strong portfolio of work
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop
  • Competency in Microsoft products including Word and PowerPoint
  • Candidates with video and/or photography experience will stand out
  • Substantial skill using graphic design, imaging, video and presentation software
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, effectively manage priorities and communicate progress
  • Must provide a portfolio of relevant work
  • Experience working with print house vendors regarding print specifications, color management and print quality press checks
  • Able to work cooperatively in a team environment
  • Must be detail-oriented and enjoy a fast-paced environment
  • Positive and flexible attitude with an ability to deliver against tight deadlines when they arise, resolve issues and propose solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of integrity and professionalism and ability to remain composed under pressure.
