HB Clinical Trials, Inc. is a medical research and clinical trials site. We conduct multiple clinical trials in different medical fields / specialties.

We have an opportunity for training for Medical Assistant Externship or other related internships/externships. Students or applicants will be provided with training for a minimum of 150 hours.

This is UNPAID internship position, training is provided at no cost to the students. You will receive a certificate stating what you have been trained on at the end of the training period. After completion of training hours, there is a possibility of hire for those who are interested, for an entry level position starting at $18.00 hourly rate, if the student passes an evaluation test. However, hiring is not guaranteed.

The training will include, but is not limited to:

• General office tasks such as printing, faxing, organizing paperwork,...
• Pre-screening patients in accordance to the study protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria. Students will be assisting in scheduling patients and making appointments.
• Collecting Medical and Surgical History and Concomitant medication history from patients.
• Preparing the exam room: exam table, EKG machine, lab kits,....
• Escorting patients to exam rooms. Collecting vital signs, including body temperature, weight, height, blood pressure and pulse, and documenting all required information.
• Training on performing Electrocardiogram (EKG).
• Training on Clinical Research data collection in various research studies as assigned, in compliance with study protocols and general research regulations including, but not limited to GCP, HIPAA, OSHA, ICH Guidelines and site specific SOPs.
• Completing and reviewing source documents and ensuring all data is completed and ready for reviewing by the study investigators or sub-investigators.
• Entering data on computer systems and study portals.
• Assigning Study medication to patients under supervision of medical staff.
• Performing study drug accountability and calculating patients' compliance.
• Collecting Adverse events and reporting them as needed.
• Maintaining all the required logs including Room/Refrigerator/Freezer temperatures, Study Medications, Lab Kits, informed Consents Logs, Screening Logs, etc…)
• Collecting Medical Records for patients.
• Training to process blood and urine samples and get them ready for shipping.
• Performing some tests at the lab as needed.

Any training listed above will be provided and performed under the supervision of medical team and the site management.

Candidates with the following requirements will be considered:

• Organizational Skills
• Friendly and professional
• Current BLS or CPR/AED certification preferred but not required
• Teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Weekdays only, working hours 9:30 am - 5:00 pm. Weekends off. You will set your own schedule for a minimum of 10 hours per week.

Interview is required prior to approval.
