DescriptionIn this role, you will manage the day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities within a leading steel production environment. Your work will contribute significantly to the production of steel used in building nations. You will supervise the maintenance team, ensuring a reliable, safe, and continually improved operation.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance activities or operations on assigned shifts or multiple shifts within a single operations department.
  • Supervise production or maintenance activities and assist operators with troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Communicate effectively and instruct on company methods, practices, and programs.
  • Handle personnel matters, including training, development, discipline, and safety programs for direct reports.
  • Direct activities of employees to ensure maintenance, service, or production functions meet established timing, quality, and cost standards.
  • Monitor performance indicators and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Supervise maintenance technicians, provide daily safety contacts, and manage a portion of a $20 million maintenance budget.
  • Ensure environmental compliance and develop a maintenance strategy to enhance equipment reliability.
Minimum Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 3 years of mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (engineering) or a non-technical field (business management).
  • 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing/industrial environment.
