HB Consultants is Hiring a Steel Production Operations Director Near Lafayette, CO

Experienced Caster/Hot Mill Superintendent Opportunity
Overview
  • Responsible for overseeing a 3-shift operation involving casting and hot mill processes.
  • Manage the refining process, ensure correct chemistries and temperatures, make heat changes, and supervise the degassing process to maintain product quality and temperature control.
  • Monitor Caster and Melt Shop production to adjust operations accordingly, maximize production, and uphold quality standards.
  • Track and analyze production reports, oversee labeling of ship-outs and scrap material, and supervise staff in compliance with safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training/experience in primary steelmaking and casting.
  • Proficiency in metallurgical principles, basic maintenance skills, and knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and NRS regulations.
  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory/leadership role, preferably within a union environment.
  • Strong computer skills including data management, word processing, spreadsheets, and email.
  • Effective written and oral communication, interpersonal, troubleshooting, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and multitask effectively.
  • Familiarity with total quality management systems, good housekeeping, and safety practices.
