Job Summary:

HB Build is looking for a dedicated Project Engineer (Ancillary Specialist) to join our innovative interior construction team. The Ancillary Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the design, planning, and execution of projects, focusing on sophisticated interior construction products such as roller shades, sound masking, raised flooring, and other ancillary functions. This position requires a technically proficient individual with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively across various teams to ensure projects meet client specifications, budgets, and schedules.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Support and Coordination:

  • Assist in the development of project plans, including scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resources.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure project components, particularly roller shades, sound masking systems, and raised flooring, are delivered and installed as planned.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to project teams during the design and execution phases.

Design and Modeling:

  • Utilize agile modeling technologies to create and update design models that meet client specifications.
  • Collaborate with clients and project teams to reconfigure and update designs on-the-fly, ensuring they align with project requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed modeling for manufacturing and installation purposes.

Take Offs and Estimating:

  • Perform take offs and prepare accurate estimates for roller shades, sound masking, raised flooring, and other ancillary functions.
  • Ensure all estimates are detailed and reflect the project’s scope, budget, and timeline.

Quality Assurance:

  • Conduct quality checks on project deliverables to ensure they meet HB Build’s standards and client expectations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of quality control processes.

Technical Documentation:

  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
  • Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential technical risks and assist in developing mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor and report on project risks and issues, providing solutions to resolve them promptly.

Client and Stakeholder Interaction:

  • Serve as a technical point of contact for clients, providing updates and addressing technical inquiries.
  • Conduct site visits and client meetings as needed to ensure project alignment and satisfaction.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a project engineering role within the construction industry, preferably with a focus on interior construction.

Experience with agile modeling technologies and construction project management software.

Certifications:

Relevant certifications (e.g., EIT, LEED AP) are a plus.

Skills:

Technical Proficiency:

  • Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit).
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend).
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural plan sets accurately.

Communication:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

Problem-Solving:

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and provide innovative solutions to technical challenges.

Organizational:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.

Working Conditions:

  • This position may require occasional travel to project sites and client locations.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours during critical project phases.
