JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

The Head of Retail Banking will be responsible for leading our retail banking division and driving growth, profitability, and operational excellence across our financial center and digital banking networks. The Head of Retail Banking will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives, managing retail operations, and fostering a client-focused culture to enhance the overall banking experience for our customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute strategic plans and initiatives to achieve retail and digital banking objectives aligned with the bank's overall goals and growth targets.
  • Provide visionary leadership and guidance to the retail banking team, setting clear goals, expectations, and performance standards to drive results and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail banking division, including financial center management, client service, sales, and risk functions.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and operational KPIs to assess financial center performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance efficiency, productivity, and service quality.
  • Champion a client-centric approach to retail and digital banking, ensuring that the needs and preferences of our clients are at the forefront of all initiatives and service delivery channels.
  • Implement strategies to enhance the client experience, improve satisfaction levels, and drive client retention and loyalty through personalized service, product innovation, and digital banking solutions.
  • Develop and execute sales strategies and initiatives to drive revenue growth, increase market share, and expand the bank's client base across retail and digital banking products and services.
  • Foster a sales culture within the retail banking team, providing training, coaching, and support to empower financial center associates to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional results.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and industry best practices related to retail banking operations, sales practices, and customer interactions.
  • Implement robust risk management processes and controls to mitigate operational, financial, and reputational risks within the retail banking division.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures and applicable laws; Provides guidance and oversight to and is responsible for the coordination and evaluation of the assigned team. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring and training associates; planning, assigning and directing work; performance management; associate compensation; approving expense reports; addressing concerns and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in banking leadership roles with a proven track record of retail and digital sales leadership and revenue growth with a large span of control.
  • Strong understanding of retail banking products and services, sales and marketing strategies, and client relationship management principles.
  • Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals and deliver exceptional results.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work under stress and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lift/move/carry approximately 20 pounds if required to perform the essential job functions. If the employee is unable to lift/move/carry this weight and can be accommodated without causing the department/division an “undue hardship” then the employee must be accommodated; hence omitting lifting/moving/carrying as a physical requirement.
