HBK Engineering is a seeking a Project Analyst whose responsibilities include monthly oversight and analysis of individual project metrics and billings, submission of project creation and change order forms (in conjunction with project managers), and assistance with monthly financial forecasting. A successful Project Analyst combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of project accounting to analyze financial reports and forecasts. The ideal candidate also has experience collaborating with a team of individuals with varied skill sets and will promote and encourage team responsiveness and engagement.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
  • Verify and vet project attributes prior to job creation; submit requests for project set-up
  • Monitor contract values, spend, and anticipated project effort
  • Verify proposed change orders as developed by Project Managers and submit associated forms
  • Analyze project information and summarize general financial status
  • Review project forecasts and update as needed in conjunction with Project Manager
  • Review proposed invoicing and provide guidance as needed to Project Manager
  • Monitor recognized project revenue and assess key factors to understand their impact on revenue
  • Support month-end and year-end close process
  • Confirm the fulfillment of all essential steps at project completion
  • Provide regular updates to senior leadership
  • Assist with miscellaneous reporting as requested
Minimum Qualifications:
  • B.S. Degree (Accounting, Economics or Finance preferred) or equivalent of 3 years accounts receivable experience
  • 3 years’ experience invoicing, project analysis, forecasting, or accruals
  • Proficiency in Deltek Vision or VantagePoint, including advanced skills in reporting
  • Exceptional organizational proficiency, with a strong ability to oversee a significant number of projects (100-500 projects)
  • Familiarity with financial accounting statements.
  • Exceptional communication skills, adept at conveying key financial information to diverse stakeholders
  • Willingness to encourage and drive team members
  • Medium to advanced MS Excel skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills
  • Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadline
