Job Summary and Qualifications

Physical Therapy Assistant - PRN / Per Diem / As Needed

Performs physical therapy and related duties under the direction of a registered physical therapist. Performs a variety of techniques to improve function, tone, strength, ROM, balance, etc. Provides appropriate wound care, i.e., setting up sterile field, debridement of necrotic tissue, and application of topical medication and bandages. Utilizes positioning as a technique to prevent or reduce deformities and/or promote function. Utilizes and instructs the patient in the proper use of orthotics/prosthetics. Recognizes and incorporates specific precautions into the patient’s treatment program. Monitors vital signs should the patient’s medical condition warrant it. Rotates through services assigned (Acute Care, Wound, and Outpatient). Discusses patient's status and needs with patient, health care providers as appropriate, in order to assure appropriate care. Performs other related functions as assigned.

What qualifications you will need:
  • Vocational School Graduate
  • State Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant (LPTA)
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
