Originally a 90-bed hospital, we have grown to a 223 bed acute care facility offering quality, compassionate care with state-of-the-art services. Our services include inpatient and outpatient medical, surgical and specialty services.
What you will do in this role:
- Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating for assigned patients.
- Responsible for meeting the Standards of Practice for Emergency Nursing and managing all assigned personnel, supplies, and equipment.
- Participates in activities to plan, measure, assess, and improve the quality of patient care.
- Responsible for direction of emergent care in crisis situation in a calm, knowledgeable manner.
- Responsible to clarify any order or treatment regimen that the nurse has reason to believe is inaccurate, non-efficacious or contraindicated by consulting with the appropriate licensed practitioner and notifying the ordering practitioner when the RN makes the decision not to administer the medication or treatment.
- Current Texas licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners
- Graduate of accredited school of nursing.
- Previous experience in Emergency Nursing is preferred
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Advanced Life Support Course (ALS or ACLS) and Certification
- American Red Cross or American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Course and Certification
- NIHSS certified within 6 months of hire, and must successfully complete TNCC within 18 months of hire
