HCA Solutions is currently seeking qualified Registered Nurses for the Atlanta VA Healthcare System, Decatur, GA. The work hours may vary due to department needs; Monday through Friday, eight (8) to twelve (12) hours shifts or a combination with rotating weekends and holidays. This is a W-2, contracted, full-time position.

Responsibilities:

• Assessment and care of patients with a wide range of physical and psychological diagnoses and with a wide range of treatment modalities.
• Care of patients requiring special precautions such as isolation.
• Inserting and maintenance of peripheral lines.
• Maintaining central lines for administration of intravenous fluid.
• Providing emergency care as indicated.
• Administration of medications (oral, subcutaneous, intramuscular and
• intravenously) and blood products.
• Verification of physician orders.
• Complete and accurate documentation of care according to facility/unit policies.
• Phlebotomy and bedside testing.
• Psychological support of patients as indicated.
• Complex wound dressing care and maintenance.
• May be required to work with COVID 19 positive patients.
• Must be able to function both dependently and independently with guidance and direction from the Nurse Manager/designee.
• Duties may vary by department

Education Requirements:

Graduate of a school of professional nursing approved by the appropriate State-accrediting agency and accredited by one of the following accrediting bodies at the time the program was completed by the applicant: The Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and The American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or in related field, but an associate degree, or diploma educational level considered with valid license and current experience or a master’s degree in Nursing or in related field is highly preferred.

Requirements:

- Current unrestricted registered nurse license from any state (United States).

- Shall have at least three (3) years current experience in an acute care, medical/surgical unit in an urban, academic Medical Center setting exclusive of agency assignments and must have worked within the last six (6) months in the above settings.

- Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)/Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate accredited by the American Heart Association.
