HCI Systems is Hiring a Fire Alarm Service Technician Near Fresno, CA

USD 25.00 - 35.00 | Fresno, CA 93722

FULL TIME, NON EXEMPT, "HOURLY"

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Service Technician to join our team. In this role you will need to be familiar with the equipment, troubleshooting, servicing, repairing, and installation, of low voltage systems and have at least journeyman level installation and troubleshooting experience.

Pay Range: $25.00-$35.00/HR

Responsibilities:

  • Installation and troubleshooting of fire life safety and other low voltage systems in medium and large commercial buildings.
  • Layout and provide direction to HCI installers on site as well as coordinate and communicate with the Project Manager to efficiently complete the project on time and on budget.
  • Technician shall have the ability to program or are experienced with programing low voltage systems including fire alarm, nurse call, access control, security, or CCTV.
  • Resolve field problems through research of multiple alternatives.
  • Meet with code officials to arrange for building permits, code issues and to discuss the intended wiring and installation methods being used.
  • Coordinate the project activities with other trades at the work locations to optimize installation time.
  • Communicate and effectively interact with other contractors and building owners.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, software/systems programs, schematics, and operational product manuals.
  • Identify out of scope requests by the contractor or customer and notify management of pending changes.
  • Identify and assist with suggested solutions for an efficient installation to complete scope.
  • Assist customers on site with all questions and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Effectively communicate project status to management.
  • Complete all appropriate company paperwork as required.
  • Industry related NICET and/or CA State Certification is preferred.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Applicants who have completed an accredited apprenticeship program such as ABC, WECA, or WBFAA is a plus.
  • Active FLS certification (bluecard) a plus.
  • Knowledge/certification of Edwards Fire Alarm systems is a plus.
  • Applicants must meet requirements in relation to background and driving record.
  • Must be proficient in the use and application of industry related equipment including MS Office.
  • Must have excellent communications skills, using tact and diplomacy when dealing with customers.
  • Regular, reliable, predictable attendance.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions such as climbing a ladder, scaffolding and high lift equipment up to 60 feet, working within ducts, crawl spaces, above ceilings, etc.
  • Capable of performing physical labor to include carrying and moving equipment and tools as required and lifting to 75lbs.
