Primary Responsibilities
In the role of Urban Designer/ Planner 2, we'll count on you to:
  • Take responsibility for variety of urban planning projects
  • Independently collect, assimilate and manage project-related data
  • Prepare constraints mapping and required documents
  • Assist in preparation and participation in public information meetings and hearings
  • Perform complex assignments, making independent decisions on problems and methods
  • Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Architecture, or closely related field
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in planning and design
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
  • Extensive graphics and report document production experience
  • Experience with GIS
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Leadership skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
  • This role is to be based in HDR's Berkeley, CA office
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Urban Planning or related field
