Job Details Level Entry Job Location Duley - External - Cambridge, MA Position Type Full Time Education Level 2 Year Degree Salary Range $18.00 - $18.00 Hourly Job Shift Day Job Category Nonprofit - Social Services Description Purpose/Objective The Full Time House Manager runs the Shelter program under the supervision of the Program Manager/Coordinator. House Managers are responsible for ensuring that the house runs smoothly according to the program guidelines and structure. They are available to the residents for support, and are responsible for enforcing all of the rules and policies of the house. Essential Job Functions House managers that work 8am- 4pm are responsible for administrative duties. 8am-4pm house managers are responsible for providing administrative support to the program coordinator. In the absence of the program coordinator, the house manager, aside from case management duties, manages the program.
Check client chores every morning by 9am and sign off if chores are completed. Write up warnings if chores are not completed
Complete room inspections every Monday form 12-1:30pm if a room inspection does not pass. The client has 24 hours to clean the room and be re-inspected Tuesday from 12-1:30pm
Take and keep inventory of office supplies create WB Mason order and submit to PC
Complete initial intake and collect vitals from new clients that enter shelter (once these documents are collected they are to be placed in a secure file for PC to collect next business day)
Manages the operations of the program during the evening and weekends
Responsible for admitting residents as they enter shelter with Heading Home, and ensuring the appropriateness of each resident for placement at the Shelter
Responsible for making supplies available
Read and update staff logs with any and all important information that occurs during their shift
Maintains appropriate logs of evening and weekend activities
Attends scheduled staff meetings
Adheres to all agency and program policies, procedures and rules
Bring back the recycling every Monday and Thursday
When a resident moves out, responsible for cleaning the unit
Performs other tasks as assigned by Program Coordinator
Qualifications Requirements
Some college required
Two years of experience with homeless, disabilities and/or other disenfranchised groups preferred
Previous work with homeless individuals and/or families, disabilities or other at-risk populations
Ability to work alone and handle crises with good judgment, adequate communication skills - both written and oral
Must be able to occasionally ascend/descend stairs up to three or more sets, frequently move equipment weighing up to 5-20 lbs., and remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
