Headstart Hatching is seeking a dynamic individual to join our team as a Lead Sanitation Worker! The Lead Sanitation Worker will be responsible for ensuring the hatchery facilities, equipment, and tools are kept clean and sanitized in compliance with all biosecurity protocols and industry regulations.
The role requires a high level of attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for both workers and turkeys.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to : Lead a team of sanitation workers, assigning tasks and responsibilities as needed and ensuring all team members are properly trained and equipped to carry out their duties.
Training new workers and ensuring all workers are following established protocols. Oversee the cleaning and sanitizing of the hatchery facilities, equipment, and tools using approved cleaning agents and methods.
Dispose of waste materials, including hatchery debris and manure, in accordance with industry regulations and biosecurity protocols.
Communicate any sanitation-related concerns or issues to the Sanitation Supervisor, Hatchery Manager, or other relevant staff members.
Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies related to sanitation and biosecurity. Ensure cleaning within the department is within company standards and address any issues when below standards.
Maintain proper safety for both people and animals including biosecurity, animal welfare, and proper working environments.
Assisting with other hatchery-related tasks and flexible work schedules, as needed. The ideal candidate will have the following educational and experience background : High school diploma is preferred.
A Valid Driver’s License is required. Previous agricultural experience is preferred. Experience specific to hatchery work is a plus.
Familiarity with biosecurity and animal welfare protocols and industry regulations is preferred. Strong leadership skills, with the ability to manage and motivate a team of workers at various levels.
Attention to detail and ability to accurately complete work. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
