Health Action New Mexico is Hiring a Remote Northern New Mexico Health Care Enrollment Coordinator

As a member of the Health Action New Mexico Team, a statewide, health advocacy non-profit organization, the Regional Coordinator will recruit, oversee and support the success of four Bilingual Outreach and Enrollment Assisters and volunteer assisters to plan, carry out and conduct educational, enrollment and follow-up activities that include informing and enrolling persons who have not been previously eligible to enroll in healthcare insurance. This program will provide the uninsured persons with access to affordable healthcare when needed, wherever they live. And will provide 1:1 bilingual, follow-up support to ensure clients effectively use their new health coverage.

The Regional Coordinator will identify and work closely with partner community-based organizations and groups who are trusted messengers among the eligible uninsured persons. The Regional Coordinator will provide coordinated and cohesive approaches to reach the priority clients for the program.

This person will provide input to the Executive Team for development of bilingual outreach and enrollment materials. All program materials will need to be reviewed by the OSI before wide scale production.

Qualifications:

  • Educational and/or professional experience conducting healthcare outreach and/or enrollment activities and facilitating discussion groups among immigrant families.
  • Experience in community organization.
  • Knowledge and track record working with community or health organizations and/or faith-based entities in the respective Region.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the culture of priority communities.
  • Bilingual skills to speak, write, read in English and Spanish.
  • Computer literacy and ability to write reports documenting activities, manage communications with other Team members, project partners, and representatives of the public.
  • Community health workers and promotoras are encouraged to apply.
  • Needs to have dependable transportation (mileage reimbursement for any work travel), availability for overnight travel within the state, and work some weekends.
  • Basic computer literacy to do enrollments, and reports,.
  • Needs to have a personal cell phone and data plan.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 35 per week
