POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
The receptionist is the central point of communication among all staff members, as well as outside persons utilizing the clinics services. In addition, the receptionist performs a wide variety of duties necessary for the smooth flow of patients through the clinic and for efficient record-keeping purposes. To accomplish the goals of the position, the receptionist will be required to perform the following tasks:
- Answer telephone calls in a professional and courteous manner within a minimum number of rings.
- Schedule appointments for patients in accordance with the established procedures.
- Maintain office supplies and forms necessary to carry out front office activities.
- Receive patients in a polite and courteous manner, and monitor the patient's flow into the treatment and consulting rooms to assure patients do not spend long periods of time in the waiting room.
- Be able to receive and convey messages either in writing, electronically, or verbally.
- Assist patients in the completion of forms, explain the necessity of the forms as needed, and collect payments for services rendered.
- Inform the office manager of the need to order supplies as appropriate.
- Scan documents, faxed documents, and file documents as needed.
- Prepare charts for the following day including but not limited to verifying insurance.
- Prepare documents for mailings as instructed.
- Maintain cleanliness in the individuals work area.
- Assists in maintaining the waiting and reception areas so that these areas are kept neat and clean and reporting wind damage or additional maintenance is required in these areas.
- All other duties as assigned.'
