Accountabilities
- Provides fitting, measuring, and dispensing of custom fabricated, prefabricated, and off-the-shelf orthotic devices and soft goods including upper and lower body, spine, and ambulatory aids. - 50%
- Provides patient/caregiver education for usage, maintenance, and care of the orthoses. - 20%
- Ensures timely collection of physician prescriptions, patient demographics, insurance information, and medical records for billing purposes. - 15%
- Assists in scheduling patient appointments for initial fittings and follow-up visits in the Equipped For Life office. - 5%
- Assists in stocking and maintenance of appropriate inventories of Durable Medical Equipment (DME) and orthoses. - 5%
- Acts as liaison between clinical staff and billing staff to ensure proper documentation for insurance to determine medical necessity. - 5%
- Bachelor's Degree - Athletic Training
- No experience required.
- NATABOC Athletic Trainer Certification
- SC Athletic Trainer License/Certification
- CPR Certification
- South Carolina DRIVERS LICENSE
- 1 or more years of DME/bracing and/or Athletic Training experience - Preferred
- Electronic Medical Records experience - Preferred
- Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field - Preferred
- Requires a high level of physical activity and endurance as well as emotional stability. Constant movement and frequent heavy lifting are required.
- Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, database and data entry
- Knowledge of office equipment (fax/copier)
- Mathematical skills
