General SummaryThe Cardiology RN (Non-Invasive) is responsible for the delivery of wellness based, customer friendly ambulatory cardiology care to patients using the nursing process. They perform exercise testing on all inpatients and outpatients. Non-Invasive Cardiology RN uses advanced cardiovascular knowledge and skills to manage situations and problems that are inherent to cardiac exercise studies. This RN assures a coordinated cardiac testing experience for patients before, during and after cardiology procedures. This RN is responsible for care related activities of support personnel. This RN is accountable to meet the unique demands of fast paced, competitive cardiology services meeting quality outcomes in an economically viable and customer friendly way. The focus of patient care will encompass pre-procedure preparation, intra-procedure monitoring and physician assistance, post-procedure evaluation, anticipation and prevention of complications, effective pain management, patient/family education, and discharge planning. This RN maintains standards of professional nursing practice. Cardiology Services include, but not limited to: EKG, Exercise testing, Radionuclide exercise or Persantine testing, Holter monitor scanning, Holter monitor application, echocardiography, stress echocardiography, dobutamine stress, echocardiography, transesophageal echo, elective cardioversions and tilt table testing.
The Cardiology RN (Non-Invasive) in Cardiac Rehabilitation is responsible for but not limited to supervising, assessing, and monitoring patients during exercise, therapy, and educational sessions that are enrolled in the wellness based, customer friendly outpatient Phase II cardiac rehabilitation program. The Nurse when working in cardiac rehabilitation will see patients who are suffering, recovering from, or at risk of developing cardiovascular disease. They will coordinate patient care encompassing risk factor modification and disease progression and process with patient, family and care givers and recognize emergent situations of cardiac patients.
Education/Skills RequiredThe Cardiology RN is responsible for the management and delivery of patient care utilizing the nursing process of patients undergoing Cardiology procedures. The Cardiology RN directs and guides the delivery of patient care at procedures, patient/family education and all care related activities while maintaining the standard of professional nursing. They are familiar with all supplies, scopes and equipment used during specific procedures. They are continuously involved with the coordination of the procedure's schedules and care / evaluation of unit and equipment. The RN will be responsible for Phase I immediately post conscious sedation procedures. QUALIFICATIONS:

- Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Currently licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
- Meets requirements of physical/pre-placement screening.
- Minimum three years nursing experience required.
- Critical care experience required. Non-Invasive Cardiology experience will be considered first.
- Competent in IV therapy and venipuncture.
- Completion of CVPH Cardiac Rhythm Interpretation Course preferred or must complete within 30 days.
