- Traveler must have a WI nursing license or a compact license from their permanent address state.
- BLS must be certified through the American Heart Association ONLY.

- Seeking a Registered Nurse to join our 28-bed General Surgery unit offering the opportunity to gain a broad base of skills and clinical knowledge.
- The patient population is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal organs, including stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts, and diseases involving the breast.
- Nurses are highly competent to care for a variety of high acuity patients, while maintaining a focus of compassionate patient and family centered care.
- Emphasis is placed on professional development through continuing education for nursing staff, professional certifications, development of unit resource nurses, mentoring staff and students, while maintaining a high standard of care for all patients and their families.
- Traveler must include and meet all minimum requirements below to be considered.
- Do not submit candidates who have or will have expiring licenses and/or certifications during the timeframe of the entire assignment.
- Candidates will automatically be declined if the above conditions are not met.
- Only submit profiles for candidates who can work the schedule in the posting and are interested in the unit.
- Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.
- Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
- Having successfully completed a traveler assignment (13 weeks) is preferred.
- Full details of the work schedule will be discussed and are to be strictly adhered to by the candidate.
- Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.
- Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not applicable for clinic positions).
- UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to the traveler 2-3 weeks prior to the start date.
- Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age.
- The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs.
- During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be reassigned to another unit in order to complete the contract.
- UW Health is moving away from using outdated file formats for Microsoft (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Profiles will need to be submitted in the following formats: .docx, .xlsx, and .pptx file types or they will be blocked by our IS department and will not be received or forwarded internally to our hiring managers.
