Seeking a Registered Nurse to join our 28-bed General Surgery unit offering the opportunity to gain a broad base of skills and clinical knowledge.
The patient population is a surgical specialty that focuses on abdominal organs, including stomach, small bowel, colon, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, and bile ducts, and diseases involving the breast.
Nurses are highly competent to care for a variety of high acuity patients, while maintaining a focus of compassionate patient and family centered care.
Emphasis is placed on professional development through continuing education for nursing staff, professional certifications, development of unit resource nurses, mentoring staff and students, while maintaining a high standard of care for all patients and their families.
Job Requirements
Traveler must include and meet all minimum requirements below to be considered.
Do not submit candidates who have or will have expiring licenses and/or certifications during the timeframe of the entire assignment.
Candidates will automatically be declined if the above conditions are not met.
Only submit profiles for candidates who can work the schedule in the posting and are interested in the unit.
Traveler must have completed two years of acute care experience within the last 3 years.
Traveler must have experience in an Academic Level 1 - Trauma center or similar size hospital.
Having successfully completed a traveler assignment (13 weeks) is preferred.
Schedule Information
Full details of the work schedule will be discussed and are to be strictly adhered to by the candidate.
Unit Specific Information
Traveler must have Basic Arrhythmia experience.
Traveler will be required to pass UW Health Telemetry test prior to being cleared to start (not applicable for clinic positions).
UW Health Recruitment will send instructions to the traveler 2-3 weeks prior to the start date.
Travelers are the first to float to floors working with children up to 1 year of age.
The Traveler may have shifts scheduled in multiple units, depending on the current staffing needs.
During the traveler's assignment, if the primary unit no longer has a need, shifts will be reassigned to another unit in order to complete the contract.
