SUMMARY: The Insurance Follow-up Representative position is responsible for all insurance follow-up on assigned accounts from the management team. The core responsibilities of an insurance follow-up representative include research, insurance billing and adjustment identification to ensure proper account resolution.SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8 am - 4:45 pmPAY RATE: Starting at $13 per hourBENEFITS:PTOSick time7 paid holidaysMedical, Dental, Vision, and Life InsuranceESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Obtain Claim Status via the Telephone, Internet and/or Fax2. Review and Interpret Contractual Terms for Managed Care, Commercial, Medicare, Medicaid and Workers’ Compensation3. Obtain Supporting Documentation Regarding Insurance Follow-up Efforts4. Identify Contractual and Administrative Adjustments Billing via Electronic and Hard copy SubmissionREQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.EXPERIENCE: A minimum of two years previous work experience as an insurance follow-up representative or Accounting is required. Must have full understanding of insurance follow-up processes (i.e., Billing, Collections, Managed Care, Medicare, Medicaid, and Commercial Practices), and well-developed interpersonal skills.SKILLS:1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills2. Reliable attendance record3. Knowledge of EOBs, CPT and ICD-9 codes, HCFAs, UB92s, HCPCS, DRGs and authorizations/referrals4. Good problem-solving skills5. Ability to learn / stay abreast of relevant policies6. Proficient computer skills7. Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm8. Detail oriented and well organized9. Outstanding listening skills10. Ability to perform under pressure in a calm manner11. Basic math skills12. High degree of accuracy13. Positive attitude14. Flexible15. Team player
