Introduction
This position is located in the Health Resources and Services Administration's, Maternal and Child Health Bureau. The duty location for this position will be in Rockville, Maryland. This position is also open to PHS Commissioned Corps Officers. PHS Commissioned Corps (CC) Officers will be referred as CC personnel and not as a candidate for conversion to a permanent federal appointment.
This position is a mission critical occupation and is responsible for analyzing public health programs, policies and procedures to ensure that Health Resources and Services Administration meets its mission, goals and objectives.
Duties
As a Public Health Analyst, you will be providing consultation and technical assistance regarding the development of a state system of care for the MCH population, including women, infants, children, and children with special health needs.

Basic Requirements for all Public Health Program Specialist Series, 0685 positions require that you demonstrate specialized experience in each of the following five competencies:

MINIMUM QUALIFYING SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position and is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, an applicant's one full year of specialized experience must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for successful job performance.

MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM - Knowledge of and experience implementing the policies, procedures and legislation governing Title Maternal and Child Health Services Block Grant Program.
MATERNAL AND CHILD HEALTH PROGRAM MANAGEMENT - Plans, develops, coordinates and manages the structure and administration of maternal and child health related program services and organizations as well as the policies that impact health programs and reimbursement of health services.
RESEARCH AND EVALUATION - Knowledge of the principles, methods, and processes used to conduct a systematic and objective inquiry; including study design, collection, analysis, and interpretation of data; and the reporting of results.
