The Insights Department harnesses the power of Health Union’s social health communities to immerse ourselves and our clients in the patient experience. Such immersion leads to deeper insights and recommendations for business strategies that will make a difference. Thus, the Insights Department excels at turning data and information about healthcare consumers into deep insight that makes a difference for our client’s brands, and ultimately for patients.
Health Union is seeking a research professional to join our growing Insights Department. Researchers are primarily responsible for supporting exceptional delivery of customer and syndicated research to Health Union clients, primarily in the pharmaceutical industry. In this role, this professional will work cross-functionally with other teams and clients in pursuit of consultative research excellence.
What You Do
  • Actively participate in the design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative research, to support client needs; in some instances, act as main point of contact and project lead for primary research projects
  • Qualitative methods:
    • Help determine qualitative research approaches that will best address research questions
    • Refine sampling plan and screener with some oversight from senior staff; work with external and/or internal partners to complete recruiting
    • Contribute to the development of discussion guides and all other materials needed to conduct the interviews
    • Moderate individual interviews and/or online discussions
  • Quantitative methods:
    • With support from other team members, implement all aspects of quantitative research, including sample design, survey development, and analysis plans
    • Help monitor recruitment progress and tactics to ensure recruitment goals are met
    • Help define analysis approach and final report organization
  • Insights generation:
    • Working with senior staff, analyze/synthesize research findings into a cohesive story that makes it easy for stakeholders and clients to absorb and appreciate the information
    • Assist in preparation of final deliverables, translating research results (i.e., detailed findings and conclusions) into 1) insights about patients in the context of client business needs or market dynamics and 2) actionable recommendations
    • Consultatively present all or part of final reports and recommendations to clients and other stakeholders
    • Participate in the exploration of new approaches to undertaking research, efficient delivery of syndicated research, and new service offerings
  • Maintain all records / files related to client interactions and project documents; safeguard confidentiality and security of all data collected or accessed within the context of research projects; participate and comply with all pharmacovigilance training, reporting and documentation responsibilities required by client
Qualifications What You Bring:
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in primary market research or similar role supporting the healthcare or pharmaceutical industry and including research with consumers; research experience with HCPs, p ayers and/or advocates, and/or health economics & outcomes research support experience a plus
  • Outstanding written and verbal communications capabilities, including skills in storytelling, synthesis of information from a wide range of sources, and visualization of quantitative and qualitative research
  • Proactive orientation and passion for problem solving and creating new approaches to doing work
  • Independent and positive thinking
  • Strong project management skills
  • Proven track record of working with multiple stakeholders / internal partners / cross functional teams; ability to influence with or without authority
  • Understanding of quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
  • Skill in using computers and Microsoft Office software
  • Post graduate degree(s) in relevant discipline(s) a plus
Annual base salary for positions at this level and job group is $75,000 to $105,000 , and your base pay will depend on the qualifications, experience, skills and competencies required for this job.
