General Description:

Medical Consulting Office in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Medical Billing Specialist, full or part time. Must be able to obtain reimbursement for medical services by reviewing procedure and diagnosis codes for accuracy, following the claim from submission through to final payment.

Full Time position includes paid holidays, paid vacation, Medical and Dental coverage and Life Insurance.

Duties:

• Prepare work to be processed by gathering and organizing data, information, and documents.

• Maintain EMR data by recording information from patient records in the prescribed categories.

• Review coding of patient claims and EOBs for compliance with correct coding procedures.

• Ensure that clinical data are complete, accurate and have medical and logical consistency.

• Determine source of errors for claims not paid or rejected and resolve issue.

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from High School or equivalent plus four (4) years of related experience.

OR

Associates degree or two (2) years of college plus two (2) years of related experience.

Experience will substitute for education up to a maximum of two (2) years.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of medical terminology.

• Knowledge of medical billing and coding.

• Knowledge of medical business practices and Revenue Cycle Management.

• Skill in oral and written communication.

• Skill in using computers and related software.

• CPB or CPC preferred but not required.

• Experience with EMR software, especially eCW, Medinformatix, eMDs and Eclipse HER.

• Must be able to work independently.

• On-premise and remote work positions available.

Business Hours:

8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday – Friday

Salary:

Compensation commensurate with experience
