Compensation : $45 - $45 Hourly

Duties of Agency Registered Nurse
  • Performs routine nursing duties.
  • Work involves providing for the assessment, care a nd treatment of individuals diagnosed with mental illness.
  • May train others.
  • Works under moderate supervision, with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.
  • Works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and Shift Coordinator.
  • The Unit RN may assign nursing responsibilities to the Unit LVN and Psychiatric Nurse Assistants in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act.
  • The responsibility of the Unit RN is to provide for and supervise the professional nursing care of the individuals who reside in a State Hospital.
  • The Unit RN is a member of the professional team and shares responsibility with other team members for the implementation of the individual's individualized recovery plan.
  • Work involves communication skills, i.e. relaying information to other team members, such as the Primary Care Provider, social worker, psychologist, and other nurses; data entry, documentation, completing reports, maintaining personnel records, supervisory duties of LVNs and psychiatric nursing assistants, implementing physicians orders, and following all facility rules/policies.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • BLS and ACLS
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Certified Principal Investigator (CPI) Certification
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • The ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong technical skills.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Passionate about patient care
  • Requires a minimum of two years of current RN Psychiatric experience.
  • Graduate from a fully accredited RN program
  • Active unencumbered RN Texas state license
  • One year of Epic experience

  • Effective interpersonal/communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
