Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze medical documentation to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate medical codes using ICD-10, ICD-9, and other coding systems
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes
- Stay updated on industry regulations and changes in medical coding and billing practices

Skills:
- Proficiency in medical terminology, including knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes
- Strong understanding of medical coding systems, such as ICD-10 and DRG
- Experience with medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of medical office procedures and administrative tasks related to billing
