Park Nicollet is looking to hire an Operating Room (OR) Coordinator to join our Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) teams! Come join us as a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.
Position Summary:
Be part of our Same Day Surgery Center Team in Shakopee with occasional travel to other Same Day Surgery Center(s) as needed.
We are looking for team members to support our growing services, with opportunities to provide patient care in our Surgery Center(s). We have a fast-paced multi-specialty Surgical Center. Our team is looking for candidates with a positive outlook and ability to work well on a team.
The Operating Room (OR) Coordinator practices under the direction of a Registered Nurse in an autonomous and collegial manner, integrating, critical thinking skills, commitment, creativity and caring. Acts as a Resource & Mentor to the Surgical Technologists within the department. Assures operational goals and objectives are obtained through the planning, implementing, and directing of programs, procedures, systems, and support personnel. Assists in the planning, resource development and implementation of the new or modified techniques, methods, practices, and approaches required independent action and a high degree of initiative. Identifies specialized, unique, or complex problem area and develops recommendations proposals. Ensures that patient care and practice are consistent with the internal and external policies and standards.
Work Schedule:

• 1.0 FTE (full-time) / Days
• Variable Start Times
• Variable Shift Lengths
• Rotating Late Shifts
• Occasional travel to alternate sites per rotation

Required Qualifications:

• Licensure/ Registration/ Certification:
  • Must be certified through one of the following Surgical Technologist Programs at time of hire or obtain the certification within 12 months of hire:
    • CST (https://nbstsa.org/examinations-cst.html)
    • NCCT (https://www.ncctinc.com/General/VerifyCertification.aspx)
• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Practical knowledge of basic surgical instrumentation and equipment of orthopedic surgical procedures.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of aseptic technique and sterilization methods.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of age-related growth and development principles necessary to provide appropriate service and assure safety of patients.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Currently validated CPR skills or BLS certification is preferred.
