SummaryUnder supervision from a more experienced electrical engineering colleague, this position performs routine technical assignments which are clearly defined and involve the application of standard design engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
QualificationsThis position normally requires a 4-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program and a working knowledge of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment. This position requires 2 years of prior relevant experience regarding engineering in the Built Environment. Equivalent working knowledge/prior experience as a Co-op or Intern or advanced degree may be considered in lieu of a 4-year engineering degree. If not already accomplished, this colleague should be pursuing a Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Certification in order to be prepared for Professional Engineering (PE) Registration once required work experience is achieved.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Maintains clear knowledge of HEAPY Corporate Vision, Mission, and Core Values and demonstrates awareness of how those objectives relate to all position responsibilities.
- Approaches all assigned tasks as an opportunity for growth and experience.
- Continually advances technical education and personal development aligned with OKRI goals.
- Collaborates with more experienced engineering colleagues to prepare basic plan details and outlines, cost estimates, and perform calculations in support of broader engineering activities involving the design of equipment, components, or systems.
- Gathers and records information to be used for preparation of specifications.
- Reviews vendor shop drawings and submittals to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Prepares routine technical reports or sections of reports.
- Collaborates with field observation colleagues to perform field observations and tests, measurements, collect field data, and prepare field reports and related documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Ability to remain sedentary at desk for long periods of time while operating a keyboard and using a computer screen.
- Ability to operate a mouse, stylus, or similar tool to make adjustments on electronic visuals.
- Ability to see details of objects on a screen, including differences in colors, shades, and brightness.
- Ability to communicate in person, electronically and via phone with other individuals.
- Possession of Reliable transportation to and from the project.
- Ability to work in all elements of indoor and outdoor environments which include the heat, cold, rain, snow, wind, etc.
- Ability to access all areas of the jobsite with activities that include ascending and descending stairs, scaffolding, ladders, navigating elevation changes, etc.
- Capable of working in physical positions that may include maneuvering self into different positions traditionally is achieved by kneeling, sitting, standing, squatting, bending over, etc.
- Ability to move, transport, or position items weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to apply established protocols and practices in a timely manner. and follow safety guidelines for both company and clients.
- Ability to gather, organize and evaluate information related to projects and calculations (such as cost analysis, facility assessments, design calculations, etc.).
