Up to $28 per hour to start

Qualifications

· A high-school diploma, and at least 3 years’ successful working experience in a manufacturing, tool fabrication environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

· Can handle consistent interruptions and effectively re-prioritize when faced with change and unforeseen challenges.

· Above-average follow-up skills in an environment that forces multi-tasking.

· Ability to effectively time-manage and prioritize one’s own workload.

· Proven ability to effectively resolve problems independently, business-related problems, and production concerns in a professional manner.

· Demonstrated desire and willingness to help others, balancing patience, and accountability.

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand or walk; sit; talk or hear; and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects or controls. The employee is regularly required to stand and walk, as well as required to stoop, bend or reach above the shoulders. The employee must occasionally lift up-to 100 pounds, 2-person lift

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

· Within the first 60 days of hire, must demonstrate a basic understanding of plant load and operational capacity through relevant cross-training and regular collaboration.

· Strong mathematical skills, with the ability to measure accurately.

· Basic computing skills, including intermediate-level proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel

· Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.

· Welding and robotic machinery operation, preferred.

· Metal industry experience a plus.

Responsibilities

· The Assistant Production Supervisor is an experienced manufacturing shop employee that assists the Manufacturing Supervisor in meeting departmental objectives and assuring the performance of the production team.

· This role is considered a “working leadership” position, where up-to 90% of the incumbent’s hours may be spent conducting day-to-day manufacturing or production work unless otherwise directed by your supervisor.

· It is expected the employee is able to master, trouble-shoot, train-on, and work in various shops areas, including but not limited to forklift operation, shear, custom work, presses, robot cells, bar punch, presses and warehouse-related tasks

· Training will be provided to the right candidate. Ongoing training will be expected of the employee.

· Candidates must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty listed, with or without reasonable accommodation.

· Responsible to oversee shift activities in our manufacturing facility, assuring procedures/processes are followed to optimize quality, productivity, safety, and efficiency

· Train, develop on-the-job skills, and improve the daily performance of the manufacturing shop employees to accomplish production needs.

· Support, implement, and maintain cellular manufacturing methodologies to improve efficiencies by reducing waste.

· Refer employees to the Supervisor when any formal disciplinary action is required. This includes enforcement of safety policies

· Communicate (verbally and in-writing) with designated manufacturing shop employees.

· Collaborate with quality control

· Attend meetings, as assigned

· The majority of a standard 10-12 hour workday will be spent standing and/or walking around the manufacturing floor
