Duties & Responsibilities

• Provides security to ensure the safety of participants and staff during work shifts.
• Conducts regular Interior and Exterior Security Perimeter Checks, including thorough vehicle inspections.
• Stays current with training programs, ensuring proficiency in areas such as Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and CPR/First Aid.
• Assists in updating Emergency Plans and actively participates in Emergency Drills.
• Completes Daily Staff Communications, showcasing your contributions during each workday.
• Carries a charged walkie-talkie at all times, staying connected to the team.
• Actively contributes to the safety and security of the YRS Site during protests.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in security or a related field.
• A valid driver's license is encouraged but not required.
• Permanent Employee Registration Card (PERC) through the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Responsibility (IDFPR).

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities (K/S/A)

• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
• Problem-solving skills in situations with limited standardization.
