Direct Support Professionals are responsible for maintaining a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment which fosters growth and rehabilitation and facilitates the development of the individual’s ability to reach his/her highest level of independence. The coordination of services includes assistance in daily living skills, medication management, and transportation for individuals. Other responsibilities and duties include the implementation of individual support plans, data collection, good oral and written communication skills; experience in behavior management and individual programing for various levels of individuals who have an intellectual disability.

Major Duties:

* Provide training, supervision and assistance for individual's receiving support.

*Adhere to state licensure, and human rights regulations and guidelines

*Maintain current, accurate, and appropriate individual records and other relevant documentation involving individuals and programming

* Provide the proper behavioral assistance and intervention for individuals

* Treat all individuals receiving supports with dignity and respect at all times

* Provide input regarding the provision of supports for individual's receiving supports

*Transport individual's receiving to various community sites

Qualifications:

*High School Diploma and 1 year of work experience with individuals who have been diagnosed with an intellectual disability

* Completion of TOVA, First Aid and CPR, Medication Management, Human Rights/ID Waiver, Emergency Preparedness, Person Centered Thinking upon hire, if not already completed and active

* Knowledge of regulatory agency standards

* Valid operator's driver's license

* Satisfactory Criminal Records Report and Background Check

* Three (3) professional and three (3) personal references required

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Salary: $14 - $17.00 per hour to start

• On call/PRN

• High school or equivalent (Required)

Experience:

• Working with Individuals with Developmental Disabilities: 1 year (Preferred)
