Heffernan Insurance Brokers is Hiring a Personal lines account Near Petaluma, CA

Job Summary :

The primary function of the Account Manager role is to manage an existing personal lines book of business. The Account Manager will be the day-to-day liaison between the insurance company, the insured, and the Heffernan Network affiliate.

Limited new business fulfillment includes securing underwriting information, marketing accounts to key carriers, and consulting with the prospect insured to secure the bound policy.

Daily servicing of clients will include addressing coverage issues, and handling all inside service work associated with client accounts.

This will include all endorsement activities, answering routine coverage questions, problem solving, renewals, and checking and biding of policies.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to :

  • Build and maintain relationships with Affiliates.
  • Provide consistent, accurate, and timely communication to clients through verbal and email correspondence.
  • Process daily incoming email and phone requests, responding in a prompt and professional manner.
  • Development of new business and renewal strategies including preparing specifications and submission material for marketing, securing underwriting information, and analyzing existing coverages to make appropriate recommendations to clients.
  • Awareness and understanding of in-depth knowledge of current marketplace standards for account placement to include coverage enhancements, price negotiations, forms, policy terms, etc.
  • Advise clients in making appropriate coverage changes. Educate clients about coverage options, exclusions, exposures, audits, and document accordingly.
  • Order and issue binders, certificates, policies, endorsements, and other related items, while verifying their accuracy before correspondence with the client.
  • Perform reviews of and audit policies, verify accuracies and facilitate corrections as necessary between the client and carrier.
  • Handle cancellations with care, and act to save accounts (if applicable) and notify the Affiliate / Client Relationship Manager as necessary.
  • Renew and remarket accounts as needed in conjunction with agency standards.
  • Maintain client files in agency management system.
  • Maintain client files accurately and consistently documenting correspondence, sending confirmations to clients, while adhering to automated procedures.

Must update the agency management system as necessary in accordance with provided guidelines.

  • Provide technical support to Affiliates and insureds as needed.
  • Determine if agency or direct billing is appropriate and invoice accordingly. Work with preferred vendor for all agency billing.
  • Assist in ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements :

  • 5 years’ experience in personal lines insurance.
  • Current P&C broker’s license.
  • CIC designation or advanced designation preferred.
  • Proficiency in insurance coverages with strong working knowledge of complex markets.
  • Ability to manage competing projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment and operate with a high level of integrity and dependability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Must be able to effectively present and articulate to clients.
  • Strong organizational skills required.
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly with Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and agency management systems.
  • Other key competencies : flexibility, adaptability, attention to detail, strategic thinker, teamwork, independent self-starter.

Compensation :

The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000. The offer will depend on the geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
