The Role of the Company

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Dispatcher for our Glen Mills, PA Aggregate Plant and will report directly to the Plant Manager.

What You'll Get To Do

Do you consider yourself organized and detail oriented? Heidelberg Materials is seeking a candidate who can multi-task and wants to be part of the team!

As a Dispatcher, you will be part of a dynamic team that works to ensure proper scheduling of and delivery of materials to customers. You will be able to put your organization and multi-tasking to use as you schedule deliveries for sales, answer phones, and be a point of contact for multiple aspects of the business.

  • Assign trucks to quarry locations continuously throughout the day
  • Secure sufficient number of hired trucks from carriers to meet demand
  • Receive project information and trucking tasks from sales representatives, scale clerks, project management, and project supervisors
  • Data entry of trucking times sheets when needed
  • Schedules orders to ensure efficient and cost-effective movement of trucks and materials including back hauls
  • Provide daily and weekly truck schedules for current and upcoming work
  • Liaison with carriers for trucks, e-mail schedules to all sales and quarry personnel.
  • Re-arrange schedule continuously to accommodate cancellations, quantity changes, and must have orders, this could include off hours outside the regular schedule
  • Communicate and coordinate between Sales Representatives, Scale Clerks and Plant Personnel
  • Develop new carrier relationships
  • Keep Certificates of Insurance for carriers on file and up to date
  • Prepare new carrier agreements and work with corporate to get new carriers set up in our systems
  • Fill in as back up scale clerk when vacations or vacancies arise.
  • Perform other duties and assignments as assigned

What We Are Looking For

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience in dispatching
  • Computer proficient; windows environment with excel experience
  • Ability to utilize creative problem solving
  • Analytical skills
  • Excellent customer service abilities
  • Strong multi-tasking skills with attention to detail
