Heidelberg Materials North America operates more than 450 locations with approximately 9,000 employees in the U.S. and Canada.Heidelberg Materials South Texas Concrete division is seeking a qualified Operations Analyst in our Katy, TX Office.HM South Texas Concrete operates 23 ready mixed concrete plants throughout the greater Houston, TX area. South Texas Concrete provides a wide range of ready mixed concrete products to meet the requirements for all commercial, industrial, paving, residential projects, and DIY projects.Reporting to the Vice President / General Manager of South Texas Concrete, the Operations Analyst is responsible for planning and controlling South Texas Concrete overall financial information, plans and systems. This position appraises operating performance in terms of costs, budgets, operating policies, capital planning, trends, and increased profit opportunities. This position has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Southwest Region Vice President Finance.What you’ll get to do:
  • Lead, manage and develop allSouth Texas Concretefinance back-office activities and employees.
  • Leads and manages the monthly Financial Statement Close Process forSouth Texas Concrete (P&L and Balance Sheet).
  • Prepares annual & quarterly budgets, cost projections and monthly forecasts.
  • Monitors and analyzes operating results against budget and past performance.
  • Recommends benchmarks for measuring the financial and operating results and action. to increase profitability and enhance long-term return on investment.
  • Pro-actively prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages.
  • Works closely with Southwest Region Finance and NAM Corporate and Shared Service. organizations, ensuring efficient and effective financial processes in compliance with all policies, reporting requirements, and information requests.
  • Ensures the safeguard of assets through adherence to controls and procedures.
  • Assists in preparation/review of financial models for capital projects; tracks capital project spending and timing against forecasts and budget to understand and report variances.
  • Performs special studies, analyses and reporting at request of South Texas Concrete business leaders and South Region Finance.
  • Proactively engages in the health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's safety performance. 
Who we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accounting.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in analysis and reporting.
  • Current knowledge of accounting, management accounting and familiarity with financial processes and controls.
  • Experience in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and other reporting tools; recent experience with Essbase is preferred.
  • Ability to effectively present information and ability to communicate and work across multiple departments (sales, transportation, management, etc.).
  • Strong communication, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
